Lifestyle Notes - Philipp Kolyadenko

We’re excited to introduce the newest face of our Lifestyle Notes series — Philipp Kolyadenko — a musician, pianist, and sound producer. We spoke with Philipp about creativity, life beyond music, and how emotions shape his sense of style.

How did your journey with music begin?

It all started with my parents. Their deep love for sound and music laid the foundation for my creative path. They introduced me to this world with such care and depth, inspiring me and filling my early experiences with rich, meaningful “symbols.”
From there, I began to explore on my own — experimenting with different instruments, chasing sounds that felt true to my inner world.

You're a pianist, a sound producer, and a performer. How do you balance all these roles?

This is my core work — studying music, sharing it with others, expressing through my own voice, whether I'm playing different instruments or shaping arrangements. It’s my passion. I also teach kids now — helping them fall in love with music and explore its endless paths.

What’s your favorite part of creating a new track?

It’s that brief moment of pure joy when I hear something that just clicks. When an idea begins to take shape and I listen to a rough but complete demo — that split second when goosebumps rise — I feel like I’ve made something fresh and meaningful. Of course, it doesn’t happen every time, but when it does, it’s magic.

Is there a track you're currently playing on repeat?

That really depends on my mood and the moment. Lately, I’ve found myself replaying Ibrahim Maalouf – Au Revoir the most.

Are there any musicians or bands that deeply inspire you or feel like kindred spirits?

Even as a musician, I protect something I consider precious — the ability to simply feel music like an ordinary listener. I don’t dissect it or hunt for borrowed elements — I just enjoy what’s offered. I find my “medicine” in many artists, whether it’s to lift my mood or soothe my soul. A few that come to mind: Tame Impala’s latest album, The Black Keys, Hermanos Gutiérrez, RY X, Kiasmos — the list goes on.

What does a typical day look like when you’re not performing or recording?

If I’m not teaching at school, I stay home with my family — trying to make up for the time we’re apart. I might squeeze in a training session with my best friend. Or I’ll spend hours at the instruments. And yes — sometimes I indulge in gaming. Guilty pleasure!

How do you recharge after a busy period? What brings you peace?

Home. Silence. Balance. Family.

Is there a wardrobe item you never leave home without?

Not really. I’m one of those people who changes outfits a few times a day. If I head out in the morning, come back, and go out again later — I’ll definitely change my look. It’s just how my mind works.

Does your mood or the music you create influence how you dress?

Phil it — our creative collective built around feeling — plays a big role in shaping my style these days.

Philipp is wearing:

Blouson aviateur olive

T-shirt ajusté gris chiné

Le Pantalon gris classique

Chemise bleue à manches longues et imprimé à rayures
